  • Gold Medal at 2018 Elite Invitational in Montreal
  • TJK's Asia Douglas does it again - earning another gold medal in the + 70 kg category! This event included eight of Canada's best athletes in their respective categories. Outstanding performance!

  • 6 Gold, 2 Silver and 4 Bronze Medals at the Annual Ajax Budokan Championship
  • Team TJK won 12 medals, half of them gold at the Annual Ajax Budokan Championship. Jonas Neilissen, Sazont Brezgin, Sasha Chirokov, Simon Popov, Gleb Kadenko won gold medals, Arthur Gareev won a gold and a bronze medal, Sasha Chirokov and Visil Photopulos won silver medals and Lior Mizraih, Josef Popov, Natenel Kaplan won bronze medals. Congratulations team!

  • 3 Gold, 3 Silver and 1 Bronze Medal at the Ontario Open Judo Championships
  • Team TJK does it again earning 7 medals at the Ontario Open Judo Championships. The Toronto Open is the largest and most recognized tournament in Ontario. Asia Douglas won a gold and a silver medal, Sazont Brezgin won a gold medal, Sasha Chirokov won a gold medal Simon Popov won Silver and Arthur Gareev won a silver medal. Gleb Kadenko won a bronze medal. Amazing efforts by Rafael Enrico Castrol (5th), Visil Photopulos, Artem Kononov and Peter Genkin. Great efforts produce great results!

  • 2 Gold and 3 Bronze Medals at the Quebec Open Judo Championships
  • On November 4 – 5, 2017, our elite team competed at the Quebec Open Judo Championships. This is the biggest tournament in North America with over 500 participants attending from the USA, Europe, South America and Canada. Our teams performance was outstanding with Asia Douglas winning 2 gold medals and Simon Popov, Bogdan Cherkashyn and Sazont Brezgin earning a bronze medal each. Congratulations to all our competitors!
  • Gold Medal Win at The Niagara Falls Open
  • Congratulations to Asia Douglas who won a gold medal at the Niagara Falls Open Judo Tournament. Asia had no opponents at u16, u18 or u21 levels to fight, so she decided to compete against Seniors. She won two matches with a total fighting time of only 25 seconds! What an amazing performance!.
  • Canadian Grappling Champion, Misha Cirkunov at Toronto Judo Kai
  • Grappling Champion and Canadian top light heavy weight MMA fighter Misha Cirkunov taught a four hour ground fighting clinic for club members. His amazing skill level and patience made this seminar a wonderful event to attend. We hope to have Misha return again soon to continue to share his knowledge and skills with our club members.
  • Judo Olympian, Sergio Pessoa at Toronto Judo Kai
  • 2012 Canadian Judo Olympian and silver medalist in the Pan American games, Sergio Pessoa, taught childrens and adults seminars in the TJKr dojo. He reviewed various hold-downs and throws, working directly with fellow judoka. We thank Sergio for his contributions to our club, and look forward to his next seminar.

  • For a limited time, all judo black belts Shodan and up are welcome to train for FREE on Thursday nights from 8:00pm - 9:30pm.

  • 7 Wins and Throw of the Day Awarded to TJK at Judo Exchange
  • Eleven club members competed in 2 matches each at the JCCC - Judo Kai, Dojo Exchange. Our athletes won 18 out of 22 matches, performing fourteen Ippons making our club the top club in the judo exchange. Congratulations to all participants.
  • 7 Years of Fond Memories
  • TJK held a year-end party celebrating 7 years of fond memories. Thank you all for being a part of our success.
  • New Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Classes Added to Schedule
  • Starting in November, two new Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu classes will be added to our schedule. Monday 6:15 - 7:15 pm and Wednesday, 5:30 - 6:30 pm. These classes are for ages 9 and up and cost an additional $40 + HST per month. Download new class schedules here.

  • Nine Medals for Toronto Judo Kai
  • Toronto Judo Kai competed at the annual Ashai Open with spectacular results. Yonatan Kaplin took fourth place, Ethan Dubrovsky, Mika Cohen, Ron Hanti and Marsel Kaplan received bronze medals, Natanel Kaplan, Alessio Bertucci, Jonathan Dubrovsky and Lance Chinthamani were awarded silver medals. Solomon Choran won a gold medal, beating the 2012 Provincial Champion in his division. Extraordinary efforts produced extraordinary results.Congratulations to all!

  • Toronto Judo Kai Visits the Jason Morris Olympic Camp
  • Ten of our Club's competition members trained with four time U.S. Judo Olympian and Olympic Silver Medalist, Jason Morris. They had three days of intensive training with U.S. and Canadian Olympians and National Champions at his camp in Glenville, New York.

  • Sensei Brent Uemura Sets the Bar High at Toronto Judo Kai
  • Toronto Judo Kai is privileged to have third degree black belt, Sensei Brent Uemura. He is a former National and International level competitor and champion and son of legendary Canadian Judo icon Sensei Goki Uemura, 8th Dan. Having Brent aboard puts our Club at the top level of training.

  • Toronto Judo Kai was presented with a great opportunity to learn from two time Senior National Judo Champion, Shujon Mazumder at one of our monthly elite seminars..Topics covered included strategies for competition and the use of multiple combination techniques. This seminar was both fun and inspiring.
